What’s better than a clean kitchen? a new clean kitchen!

Home kitchen remodel

Remodeling your kitchen

Remodeling your kitchen can range anywhere from $4,000-$40,000. “A minor kitchen remodel recoups about 80.5% of its cost in increased home value.”- Remodeling magazine. The average kitchen remodeling timeline was recorded to take about 6-8 weeks in the US in 2021. Larger or more diverse or complicated kitchen remodels can take anywhere from 10 weeks up to twelve weeks. If you’re remodeling your entire kitchen from top to bottom, you can expect this to take 3-5 months all together.

Planning out your home kitchen remodel can be a crucial part of the overall renovation process. By doing this, not only will you be saving your time but you’ll also be saving money. Your first step should be to figure out which area of your kitchen you use the most. This should be where you spend the bulk of your time and money. If meal prepping is top on your to-do list, then you’ll probably want to spend a good chunk of time revamping your countertop space. Don’t have a dishwasher and you’re more interested in cleaning rather than cooking? We can create deep sinks that don’t overflow with an eye-catching backsplash to give your kitchen remodel a pop of color. If you use your kitchen to entertain, creating an island can be a great space for guests to sit, or to place your appetizers. Make sure you stay in touch with your design contractor throughout the entire process. Some styles, tile choices, and patterns may look nice and trendy now, but could go out of style within the next 5-10 years.

Wants VS. Needs

Creating a budget for what you want versus what you need can help you stay on track while remodeling your kitchen. Compiling two separate lists will show you what you should work on obtaining now, and what you’d like for the future. Any leftover wants can be slowly incorporated down the line (if you have any excess cash) as a splurge.  For example, you’ll need a defined space for your refrigerator, you won’t need a built-in beer cooler… at least right off the bat.  As soon as you have set a budget, stick to your plan. By financially staying on track, this eliminates room for small additives down the line.

When you choose to keep design elements small, you’ll more than likely be able to get more bang for your buck. If you’re remodeling your kitchen so that it can increase your home’s value when you resell it, then you definitely do not want to spend more  than what you plan to receive in return.

Save Dollars without Cutting Corners

In order to successfully redesign your kitchen, this doesn’t mean gut your entire space. Keep your existing pipe work and drain lines where they are. There’s no need to create havoc and entirely strip the area by moving the kitchen sink from one side of the room to the other. When you move around larger items i.e. your stove, refrigerator, sink, dishwasher, not only does it get expensive quick but it also can take an entire day of our contractor’s time up.

New cabinetry can be a great way to give your kitchen an overall refresh. Whether you’re looking for a custom cabinet design, or cabinetry that is ready to assemble, we’ve got you covered. If removing and replacing your cabinet isn’t quite the look you’re going for, then maybe consider replacing your handles or knobs to give your space a cleaner look and feel.

To save time and money, any materials that you are looking to have added into your kitchen should be directly shipped to your home. Or, if they’re local items, pick them up in store yourself.  Talk with your custom home builder to ensure that they have the right amount of materials that you need in stock prior to ordering them.
